Rule #1 The Golden Rule!
This one is obvious! You want to be treated with respect and kindness, so treat others that way! We understand that not everyone will get along, that’s just the way things are, but we know you're all mature enough to be civil or at least enough so to just ignore the existence of the person you dislike. The Golden Rule is set into place to protect people and their feelings.
To go into more detail on this rule, you CANNOT be rude to your fellow members, guests, or staff members. If you have a problem with somebody, we won’t necessarily tell you to take it to the staff, but don’t air your dirty laundry, settle it in private or we must insist if it becomes too heated that you get a staff-member involved to solve the problem. However, take in mind that if a staff member is needed to fix a situation there are no ifs, ans, or buts, their decision is final unless vetoed by the head admin.
This does not mean that if you dislike the judgment given by a staff you can come running crying to the head staff, it merely means that problems bad enough to need staff interference will be confronted between the staff and if enough staff members or the head admin feel that the judgment made by the staff member dealing with the problem was not impartial or correct it can be over-turned.
Rule #2 Literacy!
As it is knowledgeable to understand, English is not the only language in existence and we know it is possible that some roleplayers may not be American or English. We won’t expect you to be like the most perfect and best heavenly sent writer ever, but we do expect you to be literate. This means no noob-talk, and Americans and the rest of the English speaking societies, don’t act dumb. I know full well you should be able to type properly. The head Admin knows a Norwegian and a Dutch who can type better English than most English speaking people! So whether your original language is English or not is no excuse!
Typos are forgivable, chat-speak is not. For instance, our head admin is a really huge idiot. She has a tendency to by accident mix up words that have NOTHING to do with each other, like writing “leg” for “like” and “like” for “leg.” Things that the word check doesn’t catch. We will forgive the obvious occasional typo, but we’d also like to stress the importance of word check! It doesn’t catch everything but it is a dear and faithful friend.
Now, back to chat-speak. To be honest, we don’t even really want to see it in the chatbox. So we definitely don’t want to see it on the board. We’re not saying those who use chat speak are noobs or by any means not on par as far as intelligence goes but… Lets just say some of us aren’t smart enough to understand a lot of the chat speak. It’s like a foreign language to us -and lets not forget! Non-American people will be very confused by American chat-speak, probably.
Rule #3 Characters!
Lets start with the number you can have of characters. It’s not that we don’t trust our members, but we’d like you to have fifteen IC (In Character) post before taking a second character and thirty before taking a (and this depends on staff decision) third character. (Note: This means fifteen on your first and fifteen on your second character.) This is just to prevent people from taking on more characters than they can handle, so please don’t feel offended.
(Note: I'd also like to add, if you wish to post a WIP --Well no, we'd very much preffer that whether your posting a finished app or a WIP you sign up an account to post. It's not dead-set that you'll be rejected or accepted and we may just ask you fix a few things. Making an account to post the app will help with this.)
Characters of course keep as canon as possible, but also make sure that you put your spin on them. Head-canon is fine, add it all you like, but make sure that you keep what's canon about them! Aka, Alfred likes Hamburgers, that's okay. Alfred is a vegetarian, not so okay. For example again, the Italies are brunettes, (This is Canon), they are not blond-blue eyed singers that are on the computer. That isn't canon.
Next on the Agenda! The derivative known as a genderbend, for now is not acceptable. If we get enough canon characters taken that we need to include the gender bent version, we will. But until such a time comes…. We will only allow Ocs and and Canons. This may seem selfish on my part, but it will be less hectic for the staff and I’m honestly not a big fan of Genderbends.
I would like to point out. Seeings this seems to be on plenty of apps when I go to see how our app-mod is doing -Yumeijin is NOT a school you can sign up for. It is a school that is actively searching out the students of their choice. If you want to claim your chara heard about the school and applied -mention that they were very surprised to receive a visit from a member of the student council saying that after deliberation the person in question had been deemed worthy.
Rule #4 Posts!
Lets start with the basics hear, shall we? As stated earlier, there is possibility that not all our members will be native to speaking the English language, so you aren’t expected to be god when it comes to posts. We do, however, ask that your posts are at least two-hundred-fifty words long. That’s 250 words, folks. Not all that hard. More is certainly welcomed but not required. We understand getting the muse to write can some times be difficult, we’ll again use our stupid head admin for an example. She tends to ramble and “fluff” her posts when she can’t think of enough to fill it. OOC post can be as short or as long winded as you want.
Nextly is activity. Do you know how sites die? Inactivity and that isn’t only to be blamed on members. One of inactivities biggest causes is staff inactivity and involvement with the site and members. So the staff of Yumeijin Gakuen promise to do our best and stay active and involved with the members, so please work hard with us. We would truly appreciate it. We do expect at least one to three post per week, to keep up activity. We will have an Activity Check every month to see who is still playing and which branches to trim to give more nutrients to the rest of the plant in a metaphorical sense. And where this may seem a little rude on our part, we’d appreciate it if you have at least five IC posts before your first Activity Check if we believe you’d had enough time. It isn’t necessary though, as long as you have at least one, we’ll consider it passable. ----Also, we do expect you to have one IC post by the end of the week you got accepted -unless you got accepted at the end of the week, then we’ll expect it by the end of next week.
Cbox Otherwise known as the ChatBox. We WILL allow Rping to go on there. But you have to decide who’s going to copy-paste and post it before you start the RP, also, remember that there will be potential members coming to the cbox so be sure to welcome them warmly and if no staff is around we ask you try to be helpful to them. If it becomes too hard or necessary, a second cbox will be put in place purely for IC.
We do understand that the school world can often times be very dark. With… Obvious things. Take bullies for example. And relationships are allowed, but we ask that you obey Proboard's TOS (TOS will be enforced by the staff of Yumeijin Gakuen).
You got through the rules? GOOD JOB! Now remember where it asks for you to give proof that you read the rules. Tell us something you like about yourself.
